My greatest fear is failure.

I never like to disappoint.  I'm always willing to say yes, for the right reasons, of course.  Then sometimes, I say something that's I'm not proud of, and I get so upset with myself.

I'm guessing, that I'm not the only one who does this.

To all who do this: your not alone! Why don't we try not to bring ourselves down?

Speaking of beauty, tonight I tried something new with my hair.

I took some mousse (a little over a quarter size) and ran it through my damp hair.

Then I french braided my hair and now I'm letting it dry (sleep on most likely, it takes forever to get my hair dry).

I'm going to see how it turns out.  I like to experiment with my hair.  You can try this too if you want!

Advice: Is It Okay To Keep Personal Secrets From Your Boyfriend/Girlfriend?

It depends on the type of secret and how personal it maybe. Also, you should evaluate your relationship and guy/girl and see if they are ready to hear these secrets.

Please answer these questions in your head:

  1. Is the secret (or secrets) really embarassing or very personal--something that your not proud of at all
  2. How well do you know your boyfriend/girlfriend? How long have you dated?
  3. Do I trust them enough to tell them?

So if your answers were: no/yes, I know them very well (almost like twins), a long time (about a year or 2), and yes then it might be a good idea to tell them, no matter what kind of secret it is, so they don't feel mistrusted.  Honesty is the best play in a relationship; all you have to do is time it right.  Too soon your guy/girl will feel like the relationship is moving to fast or it could scare them off, but do it too late and they'll wonder why you didn't tell them earlier and second-guess your trust towards them.
It will make you feel a whole lot better if you let it off your chest, especially to someone you care about and known for so long,  instead of pondering whether or not they'll still love you afterwards.  If in the end, they decide that this secret is something they want to break up upon then they weren't worth your time.

If your answers were: yes, not very well, about a couple of weeks or less, and not very well then keep it to yourself.  You don't want to tell all your deepest, darkest secrets and then find the relationship's ended and some of those secrets are being told to everyone.  Wait until your relationship has gone through about a year.  Then it might be a good time to admitt some of those secrets.

Hey Everyone!

(Yeah, I know, such an original title!)

Sorry for the last 2 post being uh, depressing?  Is that the right word?

Anyways, thanks for still sticking with me here.

This is a bit random, but I have a lot of labels.  I would display them, but they are just too many to be shown.  I guess I just love labels.

Speaking of displays, yes, I changed the background again.  It's almost an obsession.  Everytime I look at my blog I'm just iching to change it up again.  I'm soo crazy!

I finished reading all the updates for The One manga I've been reading.  I love it.  It's so deep.  It's funny at times, and then it's serious another.

Alright, I'm starting something new.  I'm going to make 1 advice post every week or so, just to keep my creative writing going.

___________________

At night, I do a lot of reflecting.  Mostly about my day and habits, goals, etc.  I figured out that I'm more of  a poet that an author.  I'm not like Hannah, who has an extraordinary vocabulary.  Plus she has the "drive" to strive. (Gosh, I just rhymed!)  There's so much I need to work on on myself.  And, truely, it pains me to write this, but I'm soo lazy it's not even funny.  I procrastinate waaay too much. Whoa! I can't believe I just admitted to that.
So, basically I need to get on with life.  I need a good push.  I feel like I can't do it.  It's like when you were a child, and you're on a swing and you just can't reach to ground to get yourself going; all you need is a good push from someone from behind. *sigh*

I need to figure this out.

Evening Came And Morning Followed

Today, well, I cried.

For those who have lost one that is loved.

Reading this will be hard. <---- You don't have to read it if you don't want to.

It's a manga chapter out of a manga I'm reading.  It reminds me of my grandfather.  And so I cried.  You don't have to know the previous storyline to understand what's happened, but I'll tell you if you're interested.

Lele, a girl who has become a model, lived with her grandma when her parents died in an accident. (Both of them were models as well.) Her grandma falls off a ladder while fixing a burned out lightbulb while Lele was away in Japan doing a photoshoot.  Lele manager/aunt/daughter of the grandmother, calls Lele telling her the news saying it wasn't a big deal--basically lying to her--and says there is no reason to come home.

Lele comes back in this chapter, from Japan, and finds out the truth from her friends as her aunt sits there, in shame most likely.

So there is a real meaning as to why I'm posting.

For all of us who have had loss.  You know the pain and the sorrow that this character feels.

Let me tell you this:

We must keep moving.  For our friends and family, and for ourselves, we mustn't wallow in our saddness for very long.

The world won't wait for us to get better, my friends.  The morning sun will still rise and the the starry evening will still come.

As the day goes, we must go.

Live on, and breathe, and crying is okay every once in a while.

Love,

Say What You Need To Say

I've had the worst day.  'nuff said.

(Yeah I know that I spelled "enough" wrong. . . )

This leads me to the point that people really need to say what's on their minds.  However, I know that some people really can't talk to certain people like say, their parents,  about personal problems, 'cause let's face it. Parents want to be the I-know-I'm-right-let's-fix-it parents.  Yeah, I know the feeling.  Just talk it over with your friends.  Chances are they'll feel the same way you do.  However, if the issue is something serious, then I don't care how hard or how horrible your parents listen to you: TELL THEM! That, or tell a TRUSTED ADULT!

There is a difference between saying something that needs to be said and stuff that shouldn't be said at all.  Many of us have difficulty to do this.  Like someone who lashes out at a friend out of frustration and agitation and then loses this friend is an example of saying stuff that shouldn't be said.  (I know how hard it is to not blow up and start shouting, but if you literally bit your lip and walk away then you'll be glad you did instead of saying something that will cost you later on.)
Then there's the stuff you should say, but a majority of the time we don't say because we're scared.  For example, a person is getting harassed severly and won't tell anyone, but you've seen it.  It is that time where you go to someone with authority (like an adult or boss) and tell them what's going on.
(Btw, I just made that last example up, really it's all fictional, nothing like that's going on where I'm at, well, not from what I know of. . )

Review: Hot Shot Tools Tourmaline Ceramic Curling Iron

I don't own this picture.  Copyright infringement not intended.

Great curling iron!  This is an Helen of Troy product.  Hot Shot Tools is a brand that I've never heard of until I went to Sally's Beauty Supply store.  There were many other styling tools that I barely knew of.  I actually went there to see if there were any Hot Tools tools because I heard they were best.  The woman there said that any of the tools there would work because they could get really hot.  Still I was reluctent to buy it.

The next day, after some research, I went back to buy one with little hope that it would work.  I bought a 1 inch sized, although the picture shown above is a 1 1/4 (a more commonly used size).

I got it out and turn it it up to 380 degrees--it goes up to 400--and waited about 15 sec. for it to heat up.*  The reason it heats up so fast is because of the metal used to make the barrel.  Tourmaline and ceramic metals make your hair very shiny and heat up 5x faster than a regular metal curling iron. Reg. metal curling irons give a curl that doesn't last as long as the nicer metals give.  Also both of these metals are better for your hair because they cause less damage to your hair than reg. metal irons. **

Anyways,  about 30 min. to and hr. later I was done.  It looked pretty good. Shiny as expected.  I shook it out and went on with my day.  It did well staying curled (my hair is hard to curl).  I was satified.  The big question was: could it keep a curl for a dance?

It did.  I was so proud.  Some of my friends had their hair curled and it didn't even last 3 hours.  I was pleasently surprised that mine had lasted the whole night (7-11 pm).

(4.5/5) I wouldn't give it a full out 5 just because of the price (in the $30 range).  If I found one that was cheap and worked just as well as this one, it would be a 5.

~Ally-Cat

*I recommend buying/using a heat protectant spray before using any heating tool.  It protects your hair from the heat (that was self-exclamatory).  Don't use too much of it, especially if you have thick hair, it can weigh your hair down and your curls can fall out faster that way.

**Flat irons you don't have to worry about.  Most flat irons are ceramic.  I don't think I've ever seen one that wasn't at least made of ceramic plates.

Upcoming Movies of 2010 (Part 1)

I do not own any of these pictures.  Copyright infringement not intended.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief

A lot of people really want to see ^said movie.  And I don't blame them.  It seems really awesome, especially if its done by the director of the Harry Potter movies.

Logan Lerman, somebody you might recognize from the movie Hoot and Alexandra Daddario, a beautiful actress you've seen on White Collar and Law & Order look like a cute couple.  :D

It's interesting that Alexandra's older than Logan (she's 23 and he's 18). It's great that she looks younger than her age.  That means a longer career! Good for her!
_______________

Alice in Wonderland

Alice in Wonderland looks so creepy.  I just hate it when these movie people change a nice, traditional story and make it into a crazy, complex plot.  Tim Burton has an odd image for movies.

I think I'll pass on this one.

<-----This new "Alice" actress looks very promising though.  I'll be excited to see her in other film works.

Toy Story 3

One word: YEESSSSSSSS! Finally! I've been waiting forever to see a sequel to this fun animated Disney movie.  I love this movie.  Okay yes, I'm a bit old (I'm not middle aged BTW) to be getting excited about a little kiddy movie, but come on! This movie started it all! All the crazy effects that Disney has developed over the years really started with the original Toy Story.  Oh man, I'm so psyched about this.  Waaah!

Day Of Fulfilled Promises

Hey everyone! How's it going?

Anyways, the party was fan-tastic! I did my best with the whole dancing thing--I even stood on bleachers and danced around like a looney!  I promised that I would post the pictures of my shoes (of torture) and the mystery dress on here so here it goes!

Drum roll please!

I don't own any of these pictures. Copyright infringement not intended.

Nothing special, but I had a blast looking at all the dresses and shoes.  Can't wait to do it again.

So here's how the night went down.

Pageant---- That was h-e-double hockey sticks!
Dance---- Loved it, loved it, loved it! Did I mention I loved it? One of the best nights I've had since forever--except for the wretched pageant. The decorations were b-e-a-utiful! The music was fun and easy to dance to; I still have Bad Romance stuck in my head.  I want your loving, I want your revenge, you and me could write a bad romance!  All my friends were there and man, they could dance.  Even Hannah was there! I danced with a great guy during one of the slow songs. :)
It was wonderful and uh, sweaty, but still amazing.  There was so many people there who all looked fantastic and beautiful.  I was so intimidated.

As for my status now? I'm dead tired.  I still have a project to do which is due Weds**cough**which I should be doing now**cough**.

Thank you all for sticking with me through these eventful weeks!  I love all you people!

Before reading, I would like you to know that the content of this segment is deep and my be discomforting for some people.

You have been warned.

A while ago, I came across a video on YouTube of a Husky puppy's head getting stuck between a baby gate and the floor, all the time the owners giggling at it's "hilarity".  They actually admitted to putting the gate up like that and encouraging the dog to try to get to them on the other side of the gate. I couldn't watch the rest.  The poor dog was crying and sounded like it wasn't very comfortable.  I'm trying my best not to write any abscene word here, but it very hard.
How dare anyone find an animal's discomfort "funny"! Shame on them! SHAME! I don't want to ever hear anyone tell be that animals don't have feelings! If they have no feelings then tell me: when a mother gorilla's baby dies and she craddles the dead body of her infant wondering why it won't wake up, what the heck do you call that? Instinct?! Or when your dog runs up to you after you've been on vacation for two weeks waging it's tail and skipping around in circles, what is that? A sign that it has to go to the bathroom? Give me a break!
Im so sick of people being so inconsiderate of others and their pets.  I loathe people like that.  I find it disturbing that someone could be so heartless as to abuse and/or abandon an animal and still go on in life like everythings all perfect and dandy.
There is a place designed for ugly, sick people like that.  You know what I'm talking about.

February News: Fashion Designer DEAD

Information founded by Associated Press Writer Gregory Katz

A British fashion designer, Alexander McQueen, was found dead in his London home Thursday after posting that he was very upset about the death of his mother.

The circumstances say it could be a possible suicide, but there has been no official confirmation from police.

He was one of the most creative and successful young designers.  His designs were "sexy and distinctive, dramatic and different, perfect for red-carpet presentations and late night rock gatherings."

His name became known first in London, then in Paris, New York, and Milan.

This talented man was favored by celbrities like Lady GaGa, Madonna, and Naomi Campbell and was also named British Fashion Designer of the Year 4x.

He was 40 years old when he died.
