Well, thank you everyone who didn't vote.  Geez, 2 votes? Really?  I give you the opportunity to interact in the decision making aspect of my site and no one takes a chance to do except 2 people?!  It was split 50% - 50%! Guess who had to decide in the end? MOI! (French for me!)  I'm very disappointed in you.

I guess I should show you what the secret backgrounds were:

This is background B

I don't own this layout picture nor did I create it!

I have many things to do:

  1.  Get my Upcoming Movies of 2010 done sooooooon
  2. Get started on Prom picks. (Maybe)
  3. Guest blogger (possibly)
  4. Move Sims 3 (I've been dying to get back to it again.)
  5. READ MORE BOOKS
  6. Finish Wuthering Heights (Yes, I'm still on that book.)
  7. Pray that At&t will put a discount on the multi. media package so I may get an Iphone ( I want one so bad)
  8. Buy some spring clothes!

Okay my conscience is starting to hit me and I'll apologize for blowing up at you all.  Although, I'm still not happy about this uncooperative attitude.  I know that it's just a poll, nothing to be crying over.  I'm moreover upset that no one seems to appreciate the time and effort that I do for this blog and my readers (you guys).

You guys know what I ask for.  A simple comment, asking questions (only one has asked so far!), voting on the polls.  .  .

Is that too much to ask for.  A simple click or a nice sentence? It only takes a couple of seconds...

Review: Sims 3

!I don't own any of the pictures used in this review!

I know this extremely late to be doing a review on a gameplay that has been out for months now, but lately I've been craving to get back on it.  (Although, I don't have the game downloaded on my new computer, I can find a way to get it here, but that's not the point!) Sims 3 is different from the original Sims and Sims 2.  It not only allows you to create your own unique sim, but also travel around town and interact with the buildings and other sims.  You are in control of the story.  Sims 3 is the most addicting and facinating game I've ever played.

First off, the graphics are swweeeet!  Everything is soft and crisp, and when I played it, I had an old Dell computer (meaning: it wasn't built for the graphics that Sims 3 supplies). Still, it was very impressive.  The characters are fun to mess around with; I loved how you could make them any kind of body type and also give them traits.  My favorite part is creating the house.  Of course, you can choose to start out with a premade one that's cheap, but I just love decorating and build a fantastic sim's house.

On a side note, I can't say what the Sims 3 store is like, because at the time I knew I wouldn't be keeping my computer for very long and you have to plug in your ID # in your store account.  Soo yeah.

Overall, it's fun to play,  after 3 weeks of playing every chance you get, it gets old.  However, the thought that there are pretty much unlimited possiblities you can do with your sim, is mind blowing.

Good luck, game playas!

Heads Up: I Might Be Moving!

Not on purpose or anything.  I just read something on my Dashboard that their dropping their "FTP" publishing for Blogger.  *scrunches face in confusion* Don't ask me what that is because I'm really not quite sure.

Anyways, if I read the notice right by Mar. 26, 2010 they are going to stop using FTP.  And, I guess, I this means they're going to move us from our old URL to a new URL.

Really, I don't know what the heck's going on. If someone could explain it to me that would be awesome.

Review: Valentine's Day Movie

I don't own this picture

Ugh.  I know one of my followers went to go see this movie.  I saw it last night.  Let's me go get my little brown bag...

Horrible.  Here's some advice for you: anytime there is a movie that has waaay too many stars in it, I guarantee it's going to be trash.  Every. Single. Time.

Some of the major stars only had about 3 scenes in the entire movie.  Taylor Swift wasn't too bad, but there is a reason why she's a country singer and not an actress.  Taylor Lautner didn't even have enough lines to even tell if his performance was any good.  Jessica Abla had about 3 scenes, not worth trotting  her around on late night talk shows.  Aston, whoops, I mean, Ashton Kutcher was okay.  He still acts like a immature loser as always (pun intended). Mr. McDreamer, or whatever, had a mix of Lautner and Alba performance: almost no dialogue and had only 3 scenes.

I could go on for days about all the ups and downs of each celebrity character who played in this pathetic movie, but I just don't have the time or the patience.  The plot was stupid, with little to none funny scenes.  There were a few surprises in the end, some of them completely ridiculous and others kind of cute.  They took waay to long to get the movie set up and make you think who's going with who, and then they did a ten-minute tidy and put this character with this one, that one with that one. . . So on and so forth.

Basically, I almost fell asleep watching this stupidly-put-together-on-a-low-budget movie and gladly burst open the theatre doors to finally get the bleep out of there.

Don't buy it, don't watch it, and don't give this film another thought! Waste of good greenbacks!

Sorry BB if you did like this movie!  I don't mean any offense to you whatsoever. :)

Hi Again

"Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like." ~ Will Smith

What up home-skillets? Haha, anyways,  I can't believe I haven't posted since the 4th!   I'm so sorry you guys! But the good news is that I'm here now.

Can I just pop this in here while it's on my mind? Too late. I'm doing it. xP

Things That You Should Know About My Art
  1. I don't ever like it when people watch me draw and stuff over my shoulder
    1. Why?  All my art is personal.  Deeply personal.  I get antsy and uncomfortable.
  2. Please don't assume that the people or cartoons that I draw are based on anyone I know in real life.
    1. I rarely draw anyone I know (unless it's a portrait).  I just draw whatever pops into my head.
  3. I draw when I feel the impulse to or when I have some sort of determination to do an "art" related thing.
    1. Lots of people over the years have asked me to draw something for them. And usually I do it, but it's never my best.  When an artist is forced or pressured into creating a piece of work, it will always be second best in their eyes.
    2. Doing any work more than once can either get better or worse.  (I drew 3 Justin Bieber portraits, each one was better than the next.)
  4. I'm a messy artist.
    1. I always smug.  Always.  Either that, or I'm erasing terribly.
  5. I'm a perfectionist when it comes to my work.  Even if I smug (I do my best to get rid of the smugginess).
  6. I will be very very ticked if anyone ever marks my paper.  With a perminent writing utensil.  It's agrivating when that happens 'cause then I have to redo the whole thing.
That's it.  I needed to get that off my chest.  I sound very uh, "witchy", but if you knew the time and thought that goes with creating art, then you'd understand that artists take their work very seriously.

Review: Alice in Wonderland

I don't own this picture!

Hey this is just a quick review on the new Tim Burton movie Alice in Wonderland.  I literally have 20 min. to do this so here we go:

I hate Tim Burton's work.  HATE HATE HATE it. But I loved this movie.
It was such a great, unique view of this classic story and sometimes writers/directors can't pull it off, but they totally blew me away.  The 3D helped make the movie also.  I loved the vibrate colors and the crazy characters.  I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have a lot of um, gore.  (I'm not a gore-y person, I just felt that the movie was already taking an edgy step by changing the plot around, so why not have some "edgy" stuff in the mix as well?)

There were some funny parts. (Weirdly, the audience in the theatre were laughing at places that weren't at all comical, but whatever.) Anne Hathaway was desent, but I've seen her do better.  Of course, Depp was fantastic. This new chick, Mia Wasikowska, ( I believe that's her name..) was pretty good for her first major gig.  (applause, applause!)  I can't wait to see more from her.  :)

Overall, it was pretty good.  I guess I don't really like the clay animation stuff of Tim Burton. They're always so depressing... :(

Advice: How To Get Healthy Hair!

Here are a few tips for healthy hair AND stick to the end to find out when another post will be uh, posted.  Plus, there's a question that needs answering at then end of this post!

HELPFUL TIPS
  • Comb your hair BEFORE you wash it, thataways, when you comb through it after you wash it, it won't be all tangled and your hair will not fall out as much
  • Don't ever use a brush to brush out wet hair.  It pulls your hair out! Using a wide-toothed comb is best for this job.
  • This will sound really gross, but DON'T wash your hair for a one day every week! No product, nothing! This will allow the natural oils in your hair to cover your hair and keep it well, healthy.  It might get really greasy, but it'll actually very nutritious for your hair.  Trust me. If you use a lot of product during the week, then you need to do this.  All the heat you use on your hair is very damaging if you do it daily.
    •  This practice isn't as bad as it seems.  Just keep your hair in a pony tail and it shouldn't bother you as much.
    • I suggest doing this on the weekend so people don't freak about your hair being "greasy".
  • If you have really oily hair, like me, do not use any HYDRATING shampoo/conditioner.  That stuff is for people with DRY hair, not oily hair.  Watch out for Herbal Essence Hydralicious shampoo line, avoid it my oily friends!
  • Dry hair? Use your favorite lotion (yes, lotion!) and apply about pea size or so (depends on how long your hair is) to your hair and run it through.  Remember: keep it low-key because too much will make it look and feel greasy.
    • People with oily hair should NOT try this.
  • When curling or straighten your hair, don't do anything to the ends.  The ends of your hair are the oldest part of your hair so adding heat will speed up the dryness of the hair (changing color from dark to light). Could cause split ends.
  • Whenever you curl or straighten your hair, make sure you use heat protectant spray or shampoo. Protects hair from heat.  Duh!
  • Make sure you use conditioner on the ends of your hair, it'll slow down the progression of dead ends.

Enjoy these tips.  Questions are always welcome!  The next post won't be till either tomorrow or next week.  Very busy my friends.

Oh, and can you guess what happens 10 days from now?

Overview of the Main Characters in Wuthering Heights

"When love is lost, do not bow your head in sadness; instead keep your head up high and gaze into heaven for that is where your broken heart has been sent to heal." ~Unknown

If you don't care of Wuthering Heights or you haven't, but want to read the book.  I wouldn't read this post.  Have a wonderful day!

~A-C

Note: I will not write about the relationship of Heathcliff and Catherine until I have completed the book wholely.  Right now I'm about to finish Volume I of Wuthering Heights. Oh, and this is totally opinion btw.

Catherine Earnshaw

She is one of the most selfish and ever changing characters I've ever read.  I'm so use to selfless characters from Twilight and The Host by Stephenie Meyer.  She changes ever so slightly, but it's so noticeable.  As a child she was a cocky and wild, as was Heathcliff.  Then she hurts her leg and stays with the Lintons for a couple of weeks and turns into a (somewhat) lady.  She still contained her horrid temper and everlasting stubbornness.  She's smart, I think.  Very independent set of mind.  Her temper's make her grow almost childish.  I believe that she is the closest to humanity and madness than Heathcliff was. (Oh, did I mention she's a drama queen?)

Heathcliff

Such a complex character.  So hard to read (not the book, but the character), except when it comes down to Catherine (I won't say anymore about the relationship!)  He is so maddened, and yet. . .unloved? I feel that he was unloved by his biological parents and believed that he'd never be completely loved and therefore, closed out people who truly cared about him. And the betrayel of Catherine really pushed him on the edge and brought some unknown feeling to prove, uh, well I'll tell you later.  (Wow, that sentence sure made sense.)
He decieving and cunning.  So cruel.  He manipulates and lies and hurts people.  He is also selfish.  He puts the blame on anyone, but himself.  It wouldn't supprise me that he conned his way to wealth during his 3 years of absence at Wuthering Heights. He thinks things through, he sees the truth in people even though he speaks no truth himself.

Okay that's my overview of the main characters.  I'll write what I think about the relationship between Catherine and Heathcliff after I've finished the book.

And the reason why I didn't want to write about the relationship was because I feel that for a person to give an honest opinion of something that's been analyzed and puzzled over for years, I should at least read to the end of the book before I make my review.

Sorry that this wasn't the best overlay, but I did my best without putting too much relationship stuff in it.

Any questions about the first vol. of Wuthering Heights is welcome.

MUCH LOVE

~Ally-Cat
