How Come We Don't Say "I Love You" Enough?

Hey everyone.  Again, congratulations to Selina and Cookie Monster.  I'm glad your both happy with your awards.

A couple of things I'd like to mention:
  • Yes, I did change the background.  And yeah, I know it's pink (bleh). I liked the design.  We'll see how long I can stand it.
  • The poll is closed.  Emma won (of course) by 50%, next came a tie between Terri and Shelby, both with 25%.  Sue and Rachel didn''t get any votes.

THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID! HAS GONE MODERN!

That's right people! I've added some awesome stuff so you can share my blog with friends and family.

Look it!

Notice the grey buttons next to the pencil.  Those are called Share Buttons.  They'll be at the bottom of every post from now on.  Let me explain what each are for: (starting from left to right) Email, Blog, Twitter, Facebook, Google Buzz.  They're pretty easy to use. Just click and go.  Also, there are the reaction boxes.  Just click on one of the white boxes to tell how you feel after reading a post. Annnd that's it! Enjoy! ;)

_____________

I have yet to get started with Hannah's gift!  Argh! What's wrong with me?! I'm sooooo lazy. :P

I am working on a short story called Beauty's Eden.  Very much fantasy and yep, you guessed it, romance.  I don't know if I'll ever post it on here. Maybe when I make my DVA account.  That way I'll have copyright and such.  Who knows I may pitch it.  Pandora could tell you, I do that a lot.  I make such an elaborate plot then I can never fill the holes.

I'm no Hannah.   Who has perfect words and a hundred drafts.

I also need to start reading Hiroshima.  It seems so sad.  Has anyone read it? Could you tell me what it's like?

The Winner of the Ally-Cat Award 2010 is....

Going to be said after I say a few things.
  1. Don't forget to vote on the poll (top right the bar).  Poll closes in two days!
  2. Welcome back BB! Check out the acknowledgements in my 100th post! You're in it!
  3. I won't be as daily these coming days.  Family is coming in and I'll be hanging around them for the weekend.
  4. Like the new layout? I changed it just for today to celebrate my 100th. If you haven't read it yet then here's the link
.......................

Really quick, I was debating on two people. I couldn't decide.  So I created a runner up spot because I felt they both deserved the honor.

The runner up is......Selina Phillips!

Congrats! You have permission to take this picture for your own blog. Yes, I did do this on the paint thing on the computer.  Thank you for following, Selina!

The winner of the Ally-Cat's Biggest Fan Award of 2010 is a blogger named.......

Cookie Monster (Roxy)!
“A winner is someone who recognizes his God-given talents, works his tail off to develop them into skills, and uses these skills to accomplish his goals.”
~ Larry Bird
Congrats to Cookie Monster! The reason for picking her is the simple reason of being an awesome, participating follower.  She commented on my blog and responded when I commented on hers.  I believe she is an overall, good person which boosted my choosing of her.

It was a tough decision, but in the end, I think it was the right one.  It was really really hard to decide between everyone because there were many things that I liked with each person.  I finally, after much deliberation, came down to Selina and Cookie.  Selina, I'm sorry that you didn't win, but I did create a runner up slot for you just because the decision was soo close; so maybe that counts for something...

All pictures in this post was created by moi.  They took about 20 min. each.  Fun to do, but very diligent work.

BTW COOKIE MONSTER: you also have permission to use your trophy picture on your blog.

Hasta Luego!

Happy 100th! I Love You All!

100!

Wow! My 100th Post! I can't believe it!

Before I forget.  Happy (late) Father's Day to everyone.  Sorry I forgot.  *pssh* silly me.  Here's a nice father's day song by Will Smith.

So I'm revealing a few secrets here.  I'm guessing a majority of my readers are in fact, women.  So I have so awesome hairstyles that you can do without damaging your hair.  Less products and heat! So here we go.

Note: Please jump to the acknowledgements if you don't want to learn the tutorial.

How To Get Slightly Wavy Hair

So you want hair that's just wavy at the ends? Not super wavy? Then you've come to the right, uh, post.  Here's an easy way to get slightly wavy hair.

What you need:

  • Damp hair (How damp? After taking a shower--depending on how fast your air drys--wait about 10-15 min.)

  • Leave-in conditioner

  • Styling spray or gel (opt.; only needed if hair is hard to style)

  • hair ties (ones w/o a metal piece holding it together)

  • Comb

  • Bobby pins or a hairband (opt.; only if you have bangs)

  • Hairspray (opt.)
How to:

  1. Start by combing through damp hair, detangling it.  Then, I highly suggest putting some leave-in conditioner (a pea-size to dime size depending on how thick and oily your hair is).

    1. The leave-in conditioner will help after you take you hair out of the braid.

    2. If your hair is hard to style (pinstraight), then add a little bit of styling spray or gel

  2. Divide your hair into 3 equal parts and then braid (Don't know how to braid? Click here!)

  3. Tie end of braid with a hair tie.

    1. Do not use a hair tie with a metal clamp.  If you've used them before you would know that when you pull the hair tie out, the clamp can pull hair out with it.

  4. If you have bangs, strategically clip them back with so that when they dry it's have a little "curve" to it to make your look more sophisticated. ;)

    1. Where a headband if you want more hold or use the head band to hold your bangs back if you don't have any bobby pins

  5. You can wear this look during the day or sleep on it. Then when you think it's dry, take it out. Give it a little shake.  If you want hairspray it and give it a couple of scrunches. Annd done.

    1. If your hair is like mine, it's damp when you pull it out of the braid so here's what you do: take out after a a couple of hours or after you've slept. Then see if it's still damp.  If it is, put some more styling spray in and rebraid.  Let it sit for a couple more hours.
Want More of a Wavy Look?

Instead of one braid, do two. It'll probably look like Ashley Simpson's hair (left).
Still want more waves?  Split hair in half and french braid (start by parting the hair from where the placement of your eyebrows are and work your way down from there). See my drawn diagram:

You can french braid loosely or tightly (I prefer loose; just sayin').  The end product should look something like Lindsay Shaw's hair (right) in Ten things (only if you tightly french braided your hair).  Experiment! See what suits you best! Have fun with it!

Good luck everyone! Happy braiding.

BTW Did you know 10 Things I Hate About You got canceled because of low ratings.
I'm saaaad! :(
